Jason Jieshan Qiu, Ph.D.

Dr. Jason Jieshan Qiu is Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering. He is an internationally recognized research and thought leader in chemical engineering and carbon science. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published 900+ papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., PNAS, Nature Commun., Nano Energy, ACS Nano, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Joule, Matter, Chem, Sci. Adv., etc., with a citation of 71100+ times and h-index of 131 (Google scholar), and his work has been featured on 70+ covers of high profile journals. He has been invited to give 160+ plenary/invited/keynote talks in conferences and in universities and research institutes. He has filed 190+ Chinese and International patents, of which some have been successfully commercialized in China. He has won 20+ prestigious awards and prizes including the 1st class award for fundamental research and industrialization technologies awarded by the Education Ministry of China. Currently, he is the Associate Editor of CIESC Journal, Chemical Engineering Science, and Battery Energy by Wiley; and is on the advisory boards of several journals, including Chemical Engineering Science, Science China Materials, and Energy Technology, etc. He is a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher and an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers in the field of chemical engineering.
